Ten Practices

Ten Practices | Environmental Responsibility

Ten Environmentally Friendly Practices Expected of all Critter Control Offices

  1. Be aware of consumption: set goals to reduce utility bills and general office supply expenses.
  2. Turn off lights, computers and appliances when not in use. When buying new appliances, look for Energy Star models.
  3. Drive less and on routes favoring right-hand turns vs. left. Investigate making your vehicles less energy dependant with the use of GPS/route mapping, and tires properly inflated (preferably with nitrogen).
  4. Lead by example with recycling.  Incorporate it into every aspect of your business and assist with your customers, if possible.
  5. Conserve: Use less of everything, particularly natural resources.
  6. Replace incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescent ones. They use less energy and last longer.
  7. Donate unused books, ink pens, cell phones, computers and other supplies to schools, charities, libraries or nursing homes.
  8. Reuse misprints as scratch paper and/or shred for packing materials. Go paperless wherever possible, and save files electronically instead of printing. If you must print, print on both sides of the paper and use recycled paper.
  9. Support vendors who have green policies. From your bank to your office supply company, give those companies your business.
  10.  Post this green policy at your Critter Control business locations and encourage employees to follow the policy at work and ask them to consider environmentally friendly actions they can take at home.
